True to size although I usually size up in them for less compression. You can dress them up for date night, dress them down for a Target run and work out in them. I love them! Highly recommend. They are cuuuuuute! Oh and the red Mangopop top is perfect for the holidays. I sized up to a medium in that one for a little extra room.  XO, Donna
